Judy Walker spent her career in hospitality industry beginning with 9 years at the Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa. From there she transferred to The Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel as the Social Catering Manager. With a love for learning and assisting others, Walker transferred and spent the next two years in Training and Development. Ready to tackle the next challenge, Walker accepted a position with the California Restaurant Association as the Executive Director of the Educational Foundation.

Judy spent over 10 years working for Share Our Strength and the No Kid Hungry Campaign as Director of Market Development, before launching Golden Rule Charity in 2016.- Having observed the hardships faced by those in her industry when they fall on hard times, Judy wished to use her passion and expertise to support these hardworking members of the hospitality industry in her community and nationwide.

Judy’s commitment to helping the hospitality industry never took a back seat even as she faced the biggest battle of her own life fighting cancer.  Judy passed away in January 2020, but her dreams and commitment to the industry are not forgotten.

The Board of Directors and Golden Rule Ambassadors are committed to supporting her legacy.

Chef Rob Wilson began his culinary career when was just a teenager at the Dana Point, California Chart House restaurant. He quickly worked his way to head cook and excelled from there. His local culinary path has included the Surf and Sand Resort in Laguna Beach, California, where he worked as a Sous Chef, and he eventually went on to be co-owner and Executive Chef of Cervino’s in Mammoth Lakes, California. Chef Rob continued his career in southern California where he worked as Sous Chef, eventually becoming the Executive Chef of one of the flag ship properties on the Southern California coast, the Ritz Carlton Laguna Niguel. California.  This is where he met and forged a long-time working partnership with Judy Walker, Share our Strength and now Golden Rule Charity.

After 13 incredible years with the Ritz Carlton, Chef Rob was offered the ability to showcase his talents as the Executive Chef of Southern California’s newest and grandest property of all, The Montage. Chef Rob is a graduate of Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, and he was named “Chef of the Year” in 2008 by Chef Magazine.

Simon Majumdar is a cook, author and broadcaster who has dedicated the second half of his time on this planet to fulfilling his ambition to “Go Everywhere, Eat Everything.” It is a journey that has taken him to all fifty states and to dozens of countries around the world. He has written three books: Eat My Globe,” “Eating for Britain,” and his third book, “Fed, White and Blue,” which catalogs his journey to American citizenship, was published by Avery Press (an imprint of Penguin Books) in 2015. Simon is also a well-recognized personality on the Food Network, regularly appearing on shows such as Cutthroat Kitchen, Iron Chef America, The Next Iron Chef, The Best Thing I Ever Ate, Extreme Chef and Beat Bobby Flay. He has also appeared as an expert commentator on National Geographic’s major series “EAT:The Story of Food.” He lives in Los Angeles.

Paula Robison is passionate about the hospitality industry and it is evident in her volunteer work spanning over 20 years.  Supporting organizations such as Share Our Strength serving as a venue host Marketing Director and Event Facilitator and then as San Diego Marketing lead where she first met Judy Walker in 2008.  Throughout her tenure with American Express and American Express Global Business Travel, Paula’s corporate leadership enabled her to lead global teams, grow business and negotiate and retain key clients in both the Retail and Corporate Travel industries.   Paula has also pursued her passion for the wine industry, achieving the certification of the WSET Level 3 Award in Wines. She enthusiastically volunteers for both SommCon® and the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival each year.

Paula’s commitment to Judy and the mission of Golden Rule Charity now continues as she has taken over as President and CEO on behalf of Judy Walker, Founder.

The objective of the OC Restaurant Association, Inc. is to illuminate the Orange County restaurant industry.  Pamela Waitt is best known for launching “Orange County Restaurant Week” in 2008 which is the region’s most celebrated dining event and brings the county together through food. She is known for her visionary spirit and leadership abilities along with a commitment of bringing people together through food.  Pam is the executive producer and creator of the Golden Foodie Awards. The association is also the company behind the Pacific Wine and Food Festival. Pam believes that food has power and connects us all. She enjoys creating innovative, fun events that appeal to all palates.

As CEO and Founder of Global Results Communications (GRC), Valerie Christopherson is responsible for client strategy, growth and profitability of GRC and international operations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Over her 20-year career in the mobile and technology industries, she has provided strategic counsel and campaign management to a wide range of successful public relations and social media programs on behalf of major trade associations, Fortune 500 companies and start-ups.

Prior to founding GRC in 2005, Valerie worked with mobile, telecom and technology clients while at Porter Novelli Convergence Group. In addition, Valerie spent time in-house at QUALCOMM as well as worked for niche agencies centered on global clients. Valerie holds a B.A. in communications with an emphasis on public relations as well as a B.A. in English from California State University, Fullerton. She also completed a certificate program in Social and Digital Media from the University of Irvine.   In her personal life, Valerie enjoys spending time with her son, participating in a wide-variety of charity events and attending concerts around the world.

Kelly Lam is a wellness expert and founder of The Whole Purpose, a company that offers individuals and corporations an innovative approach to physical and emotional well-being through Mindful Wellness and Purposeful Communication.

After many years working in corporate America, Kelly realized the vital need for healthy and balanced wellness solutions. Through her first-hand experience, she has brought ‘whole’ solutions to various global corporations and exercises her talents by producing corporate and specialty events that are customized to promote individual health on a broad scale.

Kelly’s passion and expertise combine to create a unique connection with her clients that stems from her own personal journey towards wellness, coupled with the desire to empower others. With many years in the wellness and nutrition sector, Kelly is a seasoned consultant and teacher of yoga, nutrition and health programs designed to achieve optimal wellbeing.

Kelly is an active philanthropist and serves as a board member for several non-profits and organizations including, Project Hope Alliance, The Center for Living Peace, The Center for Spirituality, Hoag Hospital’s Woman’s Committee and the University of La Verne’s President’s Advisory Council. Her passion to help the community is shown through Kelly’s hard work and desire to help others live happy and healthy lives.

Gabrielle Luzar graduated from Chapman University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. During her time at Chapman she was the Director at Large of the Accounting Society and participated in the Women’s Swim Team. Gabrielle obtained her CPA license in 2013 and is a Business Assurance Manager at Moss Adams LLP. She specializes in both the Restaurant and Food & Beverage industry groups and has worked on notable companies such as The Habit, Eureka!, Luna Grill, Orgain, and Mamma chia. While at Moss Adams, Gabrielle has participated in the office’s charity committee and the firm’s technology innovation initiative. In her free time, Gabrielle enjoys traveling internationally and spending time with her husband and friends in Newport Beach where they currently live.
